Hi, I'm Megan
My childhood dream was to be in the industry of hair. I got my first job at the age of 14 working in a salon doing everything BUT hair. I knew at that age I wanted to make a career out of making woman feel beautiful and confident.

Shortly after graduating from cosmetology school in 2005, I moved to the city of Chicago and began an apprentice program at an upscale salon in one of the fastest-growing areas of the city; Old Town. I nurtured and grew my business there for 7 years before deciding that, upon starting my own family, it was time to go out on my own to a booth rental salon. Coming from a fast paced salon, I immediately fell in love with the laid back atmosphere provided when working for yourself. I enjoyed making one on one connections with each and every client and being able to see the service through, start to finish.
In early 2020, my husband and I decided to make a change and move closer to family and enjoy warmer weather year round. A few months later, I opened my own suite and The Golden Mane was born!

On my off days, you can find me shopping at Target or Hobby Lobby and getting my nails done with my daughter, or toting my kids around to various sports activities. My husband and I are always looking for our next DIY home project and enjoy unwinding at the end of the day with a glass of red wine and a good show on Netflix.

As a city girl at heart, I continue to travel and train with stylists in some of the top salons across the country to learn everything I can about the complexities for creating dimensional hair color.
I'd be lying if I didn't tell you there are a few areas I specialize in! As one of the first groups of certified IBE stylists, I became dedicated to giving clients dream hair with hand-tied Invisible Bead Extensions. I also specialize in blonding, lived-in looks. Anything from highlights, balayage, to root melts!
As a busy mom I understand the value your time and self care. It is important for my guest's hair to look good from the time they leave the salon to when they return for their next appointment. The Golden Mane signifies more than hair when you're in my chair. I love to learn about you so when you are in my chair, you feel refreshed, pampered, and refined!
